Woman racing drivers have always had to battle to overcome discrimination as well as the challenges of the racing circuit to make it in the profession. Throughout the history of motorsport women have come and gone without making a lasting impression; that was until 26-year-old Danica Patrick became the first woman to ever win an Indy Car race.
When Patrick took the chequered flag at the Twin Ring Motegi in Japan in May 2008, she notched her first win in three years of competition to make motor racing history. However, because breaking her duck was such a long time in coming she had previously been subject to a great deal of criticism from fellow competitors due to the amount of media attention that she attracted. They felt it was disproportionate to her ability, a claim that has now been put to rest in emphatic fashion.

Barcelona is the capital of Catalonia - an autonomous community of Spain. Located on the Mediterranean Sea, it is the second largest Spanish city with a population of around 1.6million people. Barcelona is perhaps best known for its sporting links - in 1992 it held the Olympic Games and its main football side, FC Barcelona, is one of the biggest in the world.
Barcelona is one of only a dozen teams to have won the Champions League on more than one occasion - most recently in 2006 when they remained unbeaten throughout the entire tournament, a feat only matched by Manchester United in 2008. Their two victories are, however, overshadowed by rival Real Madrid’s record of nine cup wins.

Since hosting the Rugby World Cup in 1999, the Millennium Stadium has quickly established itself as a world-class sporting venue and more importantly, has developed an enviable reputation as a rugby experience not to be missed. It is now a firm fan’s favourite and both the city of Cardiff and the game of rugby have grown in stature in recent years, thanks largely to the charm and character of this unique and colourful stadium.
Perfectly positioned in the heart of the welsh capital, the stadium embodies convenience and ease, thus party-mad rugby fans never have to travel too far for their favorite beer before and after the game, making it a refreshing change from cities who choose to position their sporting venues on the outskirts of town.

Loyal football fans are more likely to be familiar with the term ‘old firm’ but for others the nickname is shrouded in mystery. For those of you who don’t know, old firm refers to two rival Scottish football clubs, both based in Glasgow: Rangers and Celtic.
Traced back to the late nineteenth-century, the term ‘old firm’ is also believed to refer, in part, to the financial benefits that were associated with the team’s frequent meetings. These financial merits are still prevalent today; the old firm are major contributors to Scotland’s economy and generate around triple the amount of revenue gained from the famous international festivals held in the capital city of Edinburgh each year.

Having already hosted the event in 1908 and 1948, London is set to become the first city in the world to host the modern Olympics Games three times.
The 1908 Olympics were only the fourth of modern times. The first was held in Athens, before it went to Paris and then St Louis. In 1906, the Intercalated Games took place in Athens but these are not officially recognised by the International Olympic Committee.
Originally the 1908 games were to be held in Rome but because of the 1906 eruption of Vesuvius - which claimed 100 lives and released the most lava recorded from any of that volcano’s activities - the Italian government decided to spend their funds elsewhere.

Johnny Knoxville, born Philip John Clapp on March 11, 1971, first came into the public consciousness at the start of the millennium as ringleader of the ‘Jackass’ television programme. After graduating from high-school in his native Knoxville, Tennessee, Clapp decided to move to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career, changing his name to Johnny Knoxville in tribute to his roots.
Finding it hard to get a big break in the City of Angels, Knoxville supported himself and his family by working in commercials as an extra and eventually started writing for skateboarding magazine ‘Big Brother’, performing stunts that would include testing self-defense equipment on himself, which would go on to become a staple of the magazine.

It has been decades already that people with mobile electronic systems in their vehicles, particularly car stereos, have pushed it to the limit in order to have the best quality of sound. Once before our grandparent’s cars have these static-filled and bulky AM radios. Then, these gave way to the cassette tape playing stereos and FM broadcasts used in our parent’s cars. Nowadays, car manufacturers offer digital mobile electronic systems that use CD players and even satellite radio that has MP3 playing compatibility.
Then, the car audio was further enhanced by surround sound speaker systems. The concept behind this enhancement is having all the speakers inside your vehicle set up like the surround sound audio system that brings the sound experience of a movie theater in your living room.
