The are a lot of services and ways to market freelance writing, but if you are overexposing yourself, you may run into the problem of getting less clients than more, all because of your marketing system.

It’s up to you what type of marketing that you will use, but remember to only concentrate on a few different strategies. Stretching yourself thin can lead to lost jobs because of the amount of time it takes to promote your site. Depending on your niche, the marketing tools available to you should be able to get you clients and get exposure for your work. But if you try to use every marketing tool available, you will not succeed in this business.

Freelance writers should stick to one or two marketing tools that work well, like a blog or a website. Make sure to be consistent in the advertising methods that you use. Also, you need not spend money on internet marketing unless you can consistently spend the money to get the word out every week. Also, don’t waste your efforts on marketing tools that become fads—most people tend to stay away from these anyway.
